RNA Day 2026
We are pleased to invite you and your lab members to the 5th annual Hopkins RNA Meeting, scheduled for March 20th, 2026, on the Homewood campus. As in previous years, this will be an all-day, in-person event featuring research presentations by our trainees. We are also excited to host three guest speakers: Anna Marie Pyle (Yale University), Daniel Larson (NIH/NCI), and Emily Garcia Sega (Arrakis Therapeutics).
We are grateful to have received a Small Meeting Award from the RNA Society in the amount of $750, which will be awarded in equal amounts to three trainees for their presentations, along with complimentary RNA Society memberships. These funds are intended to support attendance at an RNA-related meeting of their choice.
As the date approaches, we will solicit abstracts from your trainees for research talks, as well as volunteers to help run the event (e.g., session chairs). At that time we will also provide some more information, including an option to meet one-on-one with Anna and Daniel on Thursday, March 19th.
This year’s program includes a Blitz session for undergraduate students and research technicians, and we look forward to highlighting their accomplishments – encourage them to apply!

RNA Day 2025
We’re excited to invite you to the Hopkins RNA Day Symposium, a celebration of RNA research within our community! This event will be a great opportunity to share your work, learn from peers, and engage in discussions on RNA biology.
We encourage you to spend the whole day immersing yourself in this yearly event to support RNA science on and across our campuses!! Students and post-docs should submit abstracts for the opportunity of an oral presentation. We are grateful for your active participation and continued support of this gathering.

RNA Day 2024
This year, the meeting will kick off in the morning and conclude earlier in the afternoon. To keep you energized, lunch will be provided, and we’ve scheduled two coffee breaks for networking opportunities.
We’re thrilled to invite two distinguished guest speakers: Kathreine McJunkin from the NIH and Kristen Lynch from UPenn. The agenda includes three sessions and two blitz sessions, specifically tailored for undergraduates and research technicians.
Similar to previous years, attendance is free for all. This year, we will award three attendees with a 1-year RNA society membership as well as present “the best RNA-related picture/photo/image award.”
We eagerly anticipate your presence and engaging discussions!

RNA Day 2023
We’re excited to invite you to the Hopkins RNA Day Symposium! We are one month and a half away, at this point, I would like to invite trainees to submit your abstracts for an oral presentation. We are looking to select work that is closer to publication. This year, there will be three 45 min sessions on translation, RNA regulation, and non-coding RNAs and the talks will be 12 min + 3 min Q&A. Thank you for participating and we will see you soon!

RNA Day 2022
Dear Colleagues, I hope this message finds you well! Sarah and I are beginning to organize the Hopkins RNA Meeting to be held March 25, and we invite your lab members to submit abstracts to present at the meeting. We are aiming for 12 short talks organized around the topics of Translation, RNA regulation, Regulatory RNAs and RNA condensates. Additionally, we will be hosting Sandra Wolin as a guest speaker from NCI! Thank you and we are very much looking to seeing you all on March 25th!

spn-4 is a maternally provided mRNA that forms large clusters and colocalizes with P-bodies during its degradation in the early c. elegans embryo. Interfering with P-body assembly via edc-3/lsm-4 RNAi disrupts these clusters with no significant effect on degradation rate or organismal viability.
